The study of the epistemological and philosophical origins that accompanied the critical approaches, is the way that enables us to assimilate the incoming critical theories and stand on their most prominent theoretical concepts and applied procedures before implementing them in the critical arena, Where we should not look at narrative such as narratives as just critical tools invoked in the analysis of literary discourses, as it invested a group of philosophical tributaries in building its critical project, which starts from Aristotle to reach modern horizons manifested in postmodern theories, whose roots lie in the sum total of objective philosophies, logical positivism, Hegelian phenomenology, and Kant's subjective principles. From this point of view, the purpose of our research is determined in explaining the importance of awareness of the philosophical foundations of narrative and the problem of possessing knowledge to understand literary texts, especially the sacred Qur’anic text, by employing its critical procedures, by adopting the descriptive analytical approach, by monitoring the most important philosophical backgrounds that accompanied narrative in the historical course. The research concludes that there are statements that the narrative method benefits from in building his critical project, such as the author’s death, the overthrow of the human self that led to the refutation of the character in the novel, the infinity of meaning and other statements that were referred to within the study and do not agree with the construction of the Qur’anic text, and the author’s presence in it. And the present living characters that move in the space of his stories, which cannot be counted as paper creatures woven from the imagination. Although the research does not deny the possibility of benefiting from the analytical procedures that were brought by the narratives in the structural stages and beyond, especially with the knowledge that employing them enables us to achieve some technical results, but it emphasizes the need to assimilate critical models in their philosophical origins and epistemological dimensions to address the study of Qur’anic stories on the basis of Using the mechanisms of modern narrative research to explore its depths, because the use of this method is an epistemological and ideological choice, the results of which are inseparable from its introductions
