This study employs a descriptive-analytical method, guided by trauma theory, to examine the manifestations and repercussions of psychological trauma in the Algerian novel Kl Shay’ Biqadr by Islam Bakli. Trauma, defined as a profound psychic injury stemming from distressing experience, is a recurrent feature of both individual and collective existence in the contemporary era, rendering it a prevalent literary concern. This research investigates how latent traumatic wounds permeate the narrative, analyzing their role in compelling the protagonist into a state of involuntary isolation. The findings indicate that the novel’s events consistently reflect the deep-seated effects of trauma through depictions of social withdrawal, academic abandonment, pervasive guilt, and future-oriented anxiety. In response to these debilitating conditions, the narrative proposes several pathways toward healing and rehabilitation. These therapeutic mechanisms—including ecotherapeutic refuge in nature, recourse to religious and spiritual belief, engagement with literary and scientific texts, and the restorative sanctuary of family—are integrated into the story’s fabric as potential means for psychological reconstruction and a return to lived engagement.
