«سجين المرايا» عنوان رواية لسعود السنعوسي الروائي الكويتي الذي بدأها بهذه الجملة من طاغور الهندي (إنّ من يحمل مصباحه خلف ظهره لا يرى غير ظلّه أمامه) وبهذه العبارة يحاول الكاتب أن يعبّر عن محتوى الرواية بعبارة مختصرة موجزة فلسفية، ويلامس من خلالها أعمق المعاني الموجودة فيها. ليست هذه الرواية مجرد رواية درامية رومانسية، بل يظهر من خلال تفاصيلها أنّها تدور حول البحث عن الذات واكتشاف الهوية المشتتة والضائعة والجري وراء السعادة. تلعب الزمكانية دوراً فعالاً في تسريع وتجديد مسار أحداث الرواية، وهي تقنية تعدّ لدى الكثير من النقاد من أهمّ البنى السردية لفهم وتصوّر الأحداث في البناء الروائي. فانطلقت هذه الدراسة إلى معالجتها وبيان صور تمظهرها المختلفة ودلالاتها عبر منهجها الوصفي ـ التحليلي. توصّلت الدراسة بعد عرض الموضوع وتحليله إلى أنّ تمظهرات البنية الزمكانية في الرواية يغلبها الطابع الزماني أكثر من المكاني؛ لأنّ الرواية تسرد الجانب المعنوي لقصة معاناة عبد العزيز بطل الرواية الذي عاش حياة الوحدة والتشاؤم. كما هو بيّن أنّ الزمن داخل الرواية تطغى عليه آلية الاسترجاع أكثر من الاستباق؛ لأنّ حبك الأحداث في الرواية يتمركز على الماضي. وأخيراً، إنّ جمالية الهيكل البنائي السردي تكمل في تسريع السرد وتبطئته وما يحتويان من خلاصة ومشهد ووقفة؛ حيث أحدثت هذه الآليات في مجملها نغماً متكاملاً يروي قصة بطل (عبد العزيز) يعاني من الوحدة والغربة ويحاول استعادة ذاته والكشف عن هويته.
