Stream of consciousness is one of the narrative techniques used in modern and post-modern novels that have a psychological theme. By approaching the mind of the characters, the author reveals their thoughts and continues telling the story from within the mind of the characters. In Arab postmodern novels, this narrative style is also taken into consideration, and Arab authors, relying on stream-of-consciousness techniques, move away from the classical narrative style and advance the story process from the angle of an internal vision. Amjad Nasser, the Jordanian writer, paid special attention to the psychological issues and internal actions of his characters in writing the novel Hona Alwarda, and used different stream-of-consciousness techniques to describe their minds. The research attempts, relying on the descriptive and analytical approach and the statistical method, to identify the application of stream of consciousness in this novel and to express the author’s goals from this narrative method. The results of the research indicate that Nasser shows the critical beliefs of the characters in the story with the help of direct internal monologue and quotation, and indirect, synchronicity, soliloquy, and free association, who whisper these ideas in their minds under stifling conditions, lack of freedom of expression, and dictatorship. Also, with the help of free association, it represents the repressed desires, thoughts, and ideals of the novel’s characters in their unconscious state. It communicates the frightening images in the characters’ minds with their chaotic and anxious state in the waking world in the form of dreams and nightmares
