The use of narrative techniques varies from one narrator to another, depending on his environmental, social, cultural, place, time, and other circumstances. The narrator uses his own techniques. In this research, we have dealt with the narrative techniques in the novel The Obsession of the Crippled Man, starting with the concepts of narration and its techniques, and the novel in language, terminology, usage, and origin. After that, the functions of the narrator and the types of narrators were clarified. The researcher had to stop at these functions. The multiplicity of these functions is what the language of the narrative text undertakes according to the diversity of situations and worlds that it embodies, including the narrative textual function that emerges through the folds of the creative discourse to reveal its aesthetics, and the descriptive function that is linked to the narrative text. Through it, the narrator highlights the connections and relationships between the descriptive narrative discourse and the recipient. In short, it is an internal organization of the narrative, as well as the attentional function that directs the narrator to the recipient and his interest in establishing a relationship of influence with the recipient, which is Among these are the concept of time and the statement of narrative movement by slowing down the narrative movement and dividing it into breaks, scenes, sequences and monologues. His use of these techniques was natural. the connection between them. As for its use in analyzing the temporal techniques of narrative, One of the most important findings of this study is the display of the great feelings embodied in the narrator's soul, which painted a clear picture of the harshness of the past circumstances suffered by the Iraqi people. He did not employ visual art or poetry, which led to a lack of aesthetics in the text, and this is what makes it a traditional novel belonging to documentary realism, dominated by a reportorial narrative style
