يعد اكتشاف العلاقات التناصية والعمليات اللغوية التي تحكم مساحة النص دائماً أحد أكثر الموضوعات إثارة للاهتمام بالنسبة لعلماء اللغة. في السبعينيات، قدم مايكل ريفاتر (1978)، وهو عالم لغوي وسيميائي فرنسي أمريكي، نظريته في القراءة السيميائية مع وجهة نظر مفادها أن النص الأدبي عبارة عن بنية معقدة ويمكن فحصها من زوايا مختلفة. إنّ القراءة السيميائية عند ريفاتر هي نظرية في القراءة النصية تقوم على أن النص الأدبي هو فعل تواصلي يحدث بين المؤلف والقارئ. باستخدام العلامات يغرس المؤلف معنى في النص ويفهم القارئ معنى النص من خلال تفسير هذه العلامات. يرى ريفاتر بأنّ النص الأدبي له بنية متعددة الطبقات. المستوى الأول من النص هو المستوى الظاهر أو المستوى الصفري الذي يفهمه القارئ في المقام الأول. المستوى الثاني للنص هو مستوى فك التشفير أو المستوى الأول، حيث يفهم القارئ المعنى الأعمق للنص من خلال فهم العلامات والعلاقات بينها. المستوى الثالث للنص هو مستوى الإنتاج أو المستوى الثاني، حيث ينتج القارئ معنى جديدا لنفسه من خلال التفاعل مع النص. تتكون هذه النظرية من المخالفات، عملية التراكم، الأنظمة الوصفية، الهیبوغرام والمصفوفة. أجري هذا البحث بأسلوب وصفي-تحليلي بهدف قراءة سيميائية لرواية «الشمس في يوم غائم» للكاتب السوري الشهير حنا مينا. تشير نتيجة هذا البحث إلى أن مصفوفة النص عبارة عن شبكة من العلاقات الدلالية بين مختلف الأشكال الناقصية التي تشكل البنية الدلالية للنص. نتيجة التركيز على البنية اللغوية في هذا العمل هي المصفوفة التي تم تحديدها في نص الرواية وهي «إسقاط النظام البرجوازي». هذه المصفوفة عبارة عن شبكة من العلاقات الدلالية بين الهیبوغرامات الثلاثة «الطبقة البرجوازية» و«الیقظة الاجتماعیة» و«الانتفاضة العامّة». في هذه المصفوفة، يتم تقديم الطبقة البرجوازية باعتبارها السبب الرئيسي لعدم المساواة والتمييز في المجتمع. تتمتع هذه الطبقة بالثروة والسلطة وتستخدم هذا المنصب لاستغلال الطبقات الدنيا في المجتمع. نتيجة هذا الاستغلال هي الصحوة الاجتماعية لدى الشعب، مما يجعل الناس يسعون إلى تغيير النظام القائم. يمكن أن يؤدي هذا التغيير إلى إنهاء النظام الرأسمالي وإنشاء مجتمع أكثر عدالة. نظر لاعتماد هذا النقد السيميائي على التفسير الشخصي للقارئ، يمكن القول بأنّ هذه النظرية ذاتية إلى حد كبير.

The analysis of intertextual relationships and linguistic processes governing a textual space is one of the most fascinating topics for linguists. In the 1970s, Michael Rifater, a French-American linguist and semiotician, presented his model of semiotic reading which treats a literary text is a complex structure that can be examined from different angles. Rifater's textual semiotic reading is based on the fact that a literary text is a communicative act between the author and the reader. By using signs, an author instills meaning into the text, and the reader understands the meaning of the text by interpreting these signs. Rifater believes that the literary text has a multi-layered structure. The first level of the text is the apparent level or zero level that the reader understands in the first place. The second level of the text is the decoding level or level one where the reader understands the deeper meaning of the text by understanding the signs and the relationships between them. The third level of the text is the level of production or level two where the reader produces a new meaning for himself by interacting with the text. This theory consists of irregularities, accumulation process, descriptive systems, hypogram and matrix. This study, based on a descriptive-analytical framework provides a semiotic analysis of Al-Shams fi Yoom Ghaem (The sun on a cloudy day) written by Hana Mina, a famous Syrian writer. It finds that the textual matrix is a network of semantic relations between different hypograms that constitute the semantic structure of the text. The identified matrix within the text of the novel is "the overthrow of the bourgeois regime". This matrix is a network of semantic relations between the three hypograms: "Bourgeois system", "Social vigilance" and "General uprising". In this matrix, the bourgeois class is introduced as the main cause of inequality and discrimination in society. This class has wealth and power and uses them to exploit the lower classes of society. This exploitation leads to social awakening in people, as a result of which they seek to change the existing system. This change can lead to ending the capitalist system and creating a fairer society.
